Colapesce Tentacoli Decorative Plate #1

Sea-inspired decorations painted by hand using vibrant enamels define this superb decorative plate in glazed red clay belonging to the Colapesce Collection. As the other pieces from the same series, this design draws inspiration from a Sicilian popular legend according to which a half-fish, half-human creature saved the island from sinking by sustaining it with his own body. Light-blue details surround the central blue section from which emerges a sunburst motif of coral-hued tentacles.
