The earth itself becomes art in Davies' unique creations defined by a sensual, tactile experience and organic beauty. Characterized by a rich burnt earth color, with a natural green celadon glaze interior, this one-off bowl boasts a short cylindrical shape molded on a wheel using a blend of high-temperature stoneware clays created by Davies. Fired twice in a kiln, the second at 1300°C in an oxygen-reduction atmosphere, the exterior surface acquires the distinctive earth tone and texture reminiscent of the Tuscan landscape.
