This stoneware vase belongs to Martina Geroni's Efesto Collection of five multifunctional vases handcrafted on a lathe inspired by Hephaestus, the Greek god of fire, metalworking, and sculpture. Presented at EDIT Napoli 2020 in its complete form of a coffee table, each vase represents a specific body feature (foot, belly, shoulder, neck, rim, and handle), and this specific vase with a classic shape of a cylinder with a truncated cone top acts as a supporting element ("piede" means foot in Italian) for the round top.
