This piece represents the traditional Japanese season of Geishi or Midsummer from June 27th to July 6th. Historically, the year was divided into 24 periods and 72 KŌs, or seasons, each one representing the small transitions that Nature undergoes during the year. This item is crafted from silk and cotton over a vertical wood panel supported by a honeycomb structure.
